Dickinson ND
OR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 25th, 2011—Local residents have expressed their disappointment to the Happy Joe’s Support Center over the temporary closing of our Dickinson store. At this point in time, we want to stress that this closing is only for the short-term, as we believe the direction of this restaurant is best served by placing ownership in local hands.
We are thankful for the outstanding reputation that Happy Joe’s has enjoyed in Dickinson over the last 35-years by offering fun family dining and our famous pizza. We intend to open soon with local ownership in place in order to shape the long-term direction of this restaurant.
The recent robust economy, while offering much opportunity, has ironically made it difficult to keep up with our growing market demand. Our experience is similar to the business disruption in Williston, where demand has far surpassed supply. There is plenty of money but at a high cost. Managers and core employees are being lured by the present opportunities that come with a booming economy, making “business as usual” unusually difficult.
We want to be here for Dickinson’s next generation! In order to accomplish that, proper adjustments have to be made for Happy Joe’s in this new North Dakota economy.
Happy Joe’s plans to readjust to Dickinson’s recent economic windfall and do it with lasting intentions. We are thankful for that we have had the opportunity to be a part of Dickinson’s history for the last three and a half decades, and are excited as we look towards the next several decades in this city.
